'I have the right to come back': ISIS bride demands re-entry to US, insists 'I'm not a threat'

But here's what Hoda Muthana has been saying on social media

Hoda Muthana, a three-time ISIS bride who left Alabama to join the terrorist group in Syria when she was 19 years old, told CBS News she has every right to return to the U.S.

"I know I am an American citizen and I know I have the right to come back," the now 24-year-old Muthana claimed during an interview with CBS News correspondent Charlie D'Agata in Northern Syria.

The Trump administration has made it clear that Muthana, who frequently called for violence and terror on social media during her five-year-fellowship with the Islamic State, is not welcome back into the United States.

During the interview, D'Agata asked Muthana what she might say to the president of the United States, if given the chance.

"I would tell him to study the legal system," she said mockingly. "Because apparently I am allowed back. I have papers. I have citizenship."

Muthana defended her decision to join ISIS, saying, "I was only 19 when I made my decision. And you know, people when they're young they make very big stupid mistakes.

"I'm not a threat to America," she insisted. "I hope no one sees me as a threat, and I hope everyone gives me a second chance."

On Tuesday's show, Glenn Beck took a closer look at exactly what the self-proclaimed non-threatening Hoda Muthana has been posting on social media, and perhaps more importantly, how recently she was still calling for death to the very Americans from whom she now expects pity. Here are just a few of Muthana's tweets:

  • In January 2015, Muthana urged Americans to join the jihad in a tweet. "Allahumma barik [God bless] there are sooo many Aussies and Brits here but where are the Americans, wake up u cowards," she wrote.
  • Later in 2015, she tweeted: "Men and women altogether. You have much to do while you live under our greatest enemy, enough of your sleeping! Go on drive-bys + spill all of their blood, or rent a big truck and drive all over them. Veterans, Patriot, Memorial etc Day parades... Kill them."
  • After her first husband died, she tweeted "May Allah accept my husband, Abu Jihad al Australi. Promised Allah and fought in the front lines until he obtained shahadah [martrydom]." And later, "Kill kuffar [infidels] in alleyways, stab them and poison them. Poison your teachers. Go to haram restaurants and poison the food in large quantities."
  • In March of 2017, she wrote, "We have men (and women!) who love death as ardently as you love your lives! I was watching an American documentary on a battle in Afghanistan and the Americans are such cowards. Crying and shaking on the battlefield and saying, 'our aim is to get everyone home where they belong.' While our men's aim on the battlefield is to reunite with our Lord. Our honor is in jihad, either victory or shahadah [martyrdom]. These men cry for their lives while we cry for our death (shahadah)!"
