Was this a crime? Newborn baby abandoned in the woods raises questions

Today's abortion debate is raising previously unthinkable questions

A newborn baby was found alive after being wrapped in a plastic bag and abandoned in a wooded area in Forsyth County, Georgia.

Sheriff Ron Freeman credited "divine intervention" with helping a local man and his daughters find the baby girl, who was likely just a few hours old when she was discovered.

"It is without doubt a divine intervention this child was found. Had it not been for those observant folks who are our citizens who called 911, we would be having a much different conversation today," Freeman said.

On Tuesday's radio show, Glenn Beck noted Georgia's "Safe Haven Law," which allows a mother to surrender a newborn to authorities without being charged with abandonment.

"Maybe the mom didn't know," Glenn said of the law. "Or maybe mom did know, but she didn't really care because, I mean, it's not really a baby," he added sarcastically.

"Maybe she was too embarrassed. Maybe she changed her mind at the last minute .... When do we stop calling this a fetus, and when do we declare that it's a baby?" he continued. "All of these things are actual questions that we need to answer right now."

Glenn noted how radical leftists have taken the abortion debate to shocking extremes. He discussed a viral video in which a radical feminist named Sophie Lewis argues that abortion is "a form of killing that we need to be able to defend" and an "unacceptable violence for someone who doesn't want to do gestational work."
