‘How do you think she got Aquaman’? Johnny Depp gets down and dirty in Amber Heard trial

On Monday, Johnny Depp pointed to Amber Heard's landing the role of Mera in the movies "Justice League" and "Aquaman" to imply that his ex-wife was paying too much attention to certain "meetings" and not enough to himself.

Depp took the witness stand during his $50 million defamation trial against his ex-wife to answer questions about a text he sent in response to her message saying, "I’m at a coffee meeting now, will be home soon.”

“No goddamn meetings. No movies. Why? Why do you deviate from our agreement? What species of meeting? F*** it. Just tell me when you get home," was Depp's friendly reply.

After reading the text out loud, Heard's lawyer hinted that Depp just might have been acting like a scary control freak who did not want his wife going to meetings instead of spending time with him. But Depp denied that the text was sent in anger and claimed he was merely wondering why his then-wife would "deviate" from their plans in order to bag a major role in the next big DC Comics film.

“So this is not necessarily an angry text, it’s just 'why do you deviate from our agreement?' It’s not about her doing films. How do you think she got 'Aquaman,' sir?"

Depp completed his final of four days of testimony and cross-examination on Monday during a $50 million defamation trial against Heard, after she wrote a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post claiming that Depp abused her during their marriage. Heard is counter-suing Depp for defamation for $100 million.
