President Joe Biden's botched pullout from Afghanistan taught us one thing: American citizens in Ukraine should not depend on the United States government for a safe return home.
Press Secretary Jen Psaki reinforced this sentiment on Wednesday when a reporter asked, "What happens to Americans if they do get stranded in Ukraine? Should they understand the U.S. is not coming to get them?"
"The United States does not typically do mass evacuations," Psaki replied.
