Former Marxist prof: The left is convinced that they’re 'absolutely morally superior'
October 22, 2018
On Monday's show, Glenn Beck sat down with Michael Rectenwald, a New York University professor and former Marxist who, after being attacked on Twitter by an “obscene, abusive, nasty, spiritually ugly and utterly unethical" liberal mob, said goodbye to the “totalitarian" left.
The two discuss Rectenwald's book, "Springtime for Snowflakes: 'Social Justice' and Its Postmodern Parentage," as well as his political conversion from leftist to libertarian while still entrenched in the liberal world of academia.
Rectenwald said the left is "fueled by all kinds of ideological error ... fueled by a conviction, an absolute conviction of total moral certainty -- and that's what's scary."
"When people believe they're absolutely morally superior and are certain that they're absolutely right, they become like Antifa," he added.
