Maxine Waters slams Trump yet again; Angela Rye asks, ‘Is that your stump speech?’
March 05, 2018
What’s going on?
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) gave an address on Saturday in Selma, Alabama at a panel with CNN commentator Angela Rye.
In her remarks, Waters said that she would fight for reparations for black Americans if Democrats reclaim the House in this year’s midterm elections.
She also slammed President Donald Trump for his feud with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, saying that America needs a leader who “understands diplomacy and understands what we need to do to have peace in this world, so that we can all look forward to the possibility where we’re someday going to have a world that’s about peace and justice and respect for individual liberty.”
In response, CNN commentator Angela Rye asked, “Is that your stump speech for 2020?”
What else should I know?
Trump wasn’t the only Republican that Waters took aim at in her remarks. The congresswoman also set her sights on Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.
“I am the ranking member of the financial services committee that oversees Wall Street and HUD and all of that – and by the way, [we’re going to] take care of Ben Carson, too,” Waters said.
Doc’s take:
On today’s show, Doc pointed that you can “absolutely” guarantee peace in your country if you allow a dictator to take control. North Korea is peaceful because every aspect of people’s lives is controlled by the Kim regime.
