The men and women who risk their lives to keep us safe should know that their families are cared for in case anything happens to them. A nonprofit focusing on military kids wants to provide community and support for children of fallen soldiers through a wilderness skills program.

Children whose parents die while serving in the military are too often overlooked when we honor fallen soldiers. On today’s show, Jeff Epstein, founder and president of the nonprofit Healing the Wounds, explained how the unique program gives children and teens a support system, mentorship and community to help them build their future.
