Marco Rubio obliterates the Left’s narrative with Comey questions

During the much-anticipated James Comey testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday, Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla., asked a question of former FBI Director Comey that pretty much shut down the entire Democratic “Trump obstructed justice” narrative.

Democrats are obsessed with proving that President Trump fired Comey to interfere with the ongoing counter-intelligence investigation into Russia’s influence in the 2016 election. They wanted Comey to testify that he believed President Trump asked him to end the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn and then fired him after he refused to do so.

But as Marco Rubio points out in his questioning, if Comey felt inappropriately pressured by Trump at the time, he didn’t do anything about it.

In fact, as Rubio summarizes, in the three requests President Trump made of Comey, according to Comey’s testimony, Trump did not once tell Comey to end the Russia investigation.

And then Rubio points out that with all the leaked information to the press that supposedly implicates Trump in “Russian activity,” not one of these leaks reported the fact that Donald Trump is not under investigation.

So to summarize what Senator Rubio showed today, President Trump did not attempt to obstruct the Russia investigation. President Trump is not the subject of the Russia investigation. President Trump did not obstruct justice, and there is no cause to impeach him.

So what is this hearing about?
