Glenn Beck: Here are some of the most bizarre and idiotic proposals in AOC's 'Green New Deal'

By now you've probably heard that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) released her much-hyped "Green New Deal" on Thursday. The bill was promptly endorsed by Sens. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and backed by several other potential 2020 Democratic presidential contenders.

You may also have heard that an accompanying FAQ document was removed from Ocasio-Cortez's website within hours of its release after being panned widely on social media.

On Friday's radio program, Glenn Beck had a little fun running through some of the most hilarious highlights of Ocasio-Cortez's proposal.

"She [Ocasio-Cortez] has finally unveiled to the world, via NPR of course, the contents of her Green New Deal. I love this," Glenn said. "I just want to give you some of some of the highlights. The Green New Deal proposes the following will be completed in the next ten years. Are you ready?"

Here's Glenn's rundown of the highlights:

A ban on 99 percent of the cars currently on the road. "No biggie," Glenn said. "There's only an estimated 270 million registered cars out there. And I'm sure all the 350 million Americans out there live in a place like Manhattan where a car isn't really needed."

A ban on all oil, natural gas, and nuclear power. "That's probably over 90 percent of how the country gets its energy," he noted. "How are we going to replace it? Don't ask. She's doing moral work."

Every building in America will be gutted and rebuilt so that they can be outfitted with energy efficient materials. "Notice that I said every building. So in the next 10 years, without cars and without energy, we're going to gut and rebuild every building in America," Glenn continued.

Making air travel unnecessary. "Sure, we're going to miss our plane rides. But have no fear, she has a solution for that ... a massive amount of high speed rail," Glenn said.

The plan also calls for guaranteed jobs, a free house, free education, and guaranteed income — even for those who are "unwilling to work."
