eTragedy: Couple that Met Online Found Dead at Shooting Range

A couple that had recently met online were found dead at a shooting range near Kansas City Tuesday. Kansas City Star on the tragedy:

"Police were called to the shooting range at 6201 Robinson Road about 11:20 a.m. and found a man and a woman shot. Police do not think anyone else was involved in the deaths.

'It was just a spur of the moment thing, them going,' Christy Gregor, Hilburn’s sister, said late Tuesday. 'A detective came out and told us she was dead. We don’t know what happened.'

She said she had met the boyfriend, but did not know much about him.

'He seemed normal,' Gregor said."

NBC  Action News writes that the police said their report lists the shooting as a murder with Hilburn as the victim, and no word on what led to the shooting.

According to the Kansas City Star, this is not the first time that bullets hit people, not targets, at the "Bullet Hole" shooting range. In March 2010, a man committed suicide there, and three people killed themselves there in 1997. Following the triple-suicide in 1997, the Bullet Hole instituted a 24-hour waiting period for new members.
