Casey Anthony Finally Speaks Out: 'Obviously I Didn't Kill My Daughter

"She’s my greatest accomplishment."

Just when you think she's vanished from media and society, alike, famed "tot mom" Casey Anthony has a way of re-appearing. You may recall the video journals that leaked a few months ago, showing her new piercings and recapping her life-post trial. Now, the woman who was accused of killing her two-year-old child, Caylee, is speaking out. In a phone conversation with CNN's Piers Morgan, she denied killing her daughter and admitted being "ashamed" of the person she was.

During their conversation, Morgan asked the young woman to detail some of the misconceptions surrounding both her and the case.

"Well I mean, there’s obviously several misconceptions. Obviously I didn’t kill my daughter," Anthony told Morgan during their discussion, going on to comment about how important her daughter was to her. "If anything there’s nothing in this world l’ve ever been more proud of, and there’s no one I loved more than my daughter. She’s my greatest accomplishment."

On Tuesday, Piers Morgan announced, via Twitter, that he had spoken with Anthony, pledging to share the details on the air last night. And while he didn't record the call, here are some of his initial tweets that include Anthony's quotes about her daughter:

As promised, the evening's show delved deeply into the conversation. Anthony's attorney, Cheney Mason, appeared on CNN as well, to provide corroboration and explanation. Here's a portion of that dialogue, below:

Mason and Morgan also highlighted Anthony's statement that she is ashamed of the person she was:

While some will likely never change their personal views on Anthony, her comments were certainly compelling. Only time will tell how the public will treat the woman who gained infamy for a crime she claims she never committed.
