Melissa Harris-Perry is auctioning off the pink sweater she wore in her now-famous MSNBC promo on eBay.
The promo caused a storm of controversy this week, particularly for her statement that "kids belong to whole communities," not just their parents.
The sweater is described as a pre-owned, 100 percent cashmere J. Crew crewneck, size small. As of Saturday afternoon, bidding had reached $570.
The eBay listing says all proceeds will go to the Children's Defense Fund, a nonprofit child advocacy organization.
Harris-Perry announced the auction on her show Saturday morning. Bidding runs through April 17.
