Scary Footage: Skidding Sports Car Slams into Crowd, Injures 17 at Show in Poland
June 30, 2013
WARSAW, Poland (TheBlaze/AP) -- Authorities say a luxury sports car skidded into the crowd during a car show in Poland, injuring 17 people, including two children.
The Provincial Governor's Office in Poznan, western Poland, said in a statement Sunday that four people are in serious condition but their injuries are not life-threatening.
The statement said the driver lost control on a straight stretch of road, broke through a barrier and hit the crowd. Prosecutors are investigating.
Polish agency PAP said the driver was Norwegian. The car was from Swedish specialty automaker Koenigsegg.
The accident took place during the ninth Gran Turismo Polonia show, in which drivers show off their rare sports cars.
