1 Dead, 4 Wounded in Teen Birthday Party Shooting

At least one shooter remains at large.

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (TheBlaze/AP) -- One teenager is dead and four others were wounded after a 15-year-old girl's birthday party ended in gunfire.

It's not yet clear what prompted the shooting in a home in Hamilton Township—a suburb near the city of Trenton, the state capital—on Friday.

Mercer County prosecutors say 17-year-old Shakir Williams of Trenton was shot to death and another 17-year-old boy is hospitalized in critical but stable condition with wounds to the torso, arms, leg and groin.

At least one shooter remains at large after authorities say he killed Williams inside the living room of the home, according to NJ.com.

"It's estimated there could have been as many as 100 people at the party," Mercer County First Assistant Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said to NJ.com. An adult was collecting admission at the door, reported WPVI-TV.

Two other boys, ages 17 and 18, were shot in the legs, while a fourth boy was hit in the calf. They were treated at a hospital and released.

No arrests have been announced.
