Woman Gets in Horrible Wreck on Way to Pay Her Rent -- Then Is Apparently Robbed While She's Trapped Inside the Mangled Car!
August 01, 2013
"If you saw the car and you see me, I look darn good."
After getting in a bad car wreck, a woman in Bossier City, Louisiana, had no idea that she'd suffer yet another major setback. Shannon Slocum collided with a vehicle -- and her car flipped over, landing upside down. But that was only the beginning of her problems.
Trapped inside, Slocum was unaware that, during the chaos, a wad of cash apparently landed outside of the vehicle. Rather than assist the victim, a man purportedly quickly collected the cash and fled. Now, police are looking for the man who left without helping the trapped woman inside.

Slocum, who broke her nose and fractured her ribs, told authorities that she had $200 in the car at the time of the accident. KSLA-TV reports that $100 has been recovered, meaning that the individual likely took the other $100. Slocum was on her way to pay her rent when the accident unfolded.
"If you saw the car and you see me, I look darn good," she told the outlet.

On a more serious note, Slocum, with tears in her eyes, said that the most hurtful element of the situation is that the person who took the money chose cash over a human life.
Authorities are currently looking for security footage that might show the crime, giving more details about the individual who stole the money. If located, he could be slapped with a misdemeanor theft charge.
