Ad with gay Dem and his tea party dad a hit with MSNBC

The political ad featuring Massachusetts Democratic congressional candidate Carl Sciortino, and his father Carl, Sr., a self-proclaimed tea partier and registered Republican, did well for the campaign, so far as its concerned.

From a release by the Sciortino campaign:

In the 24-hours since Carl Sciortino’s campaign for Congress in the MA-05 special election released its first television ad -- featuring the liberal Massachusetts State Representative and his Tea Party father -- the spot, called a "masterpiece" by MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, has gone viral garnering national media attention and more than 100,000 views on YouTube.

Possibly the climax of the ad's aftermath: Both Sciortino and his father are set to appear on MSNBC's "Hardball" with Chris Matthews Thursday evening. Matthews called the ad "clever" on his show Wednesday.

A source close to the Sciortino campaign tells TheBlaze that in addition to talking about the ad, Matthews will also probably ask Sciortino about his views on other things, like Syria.

The ad was released on the internet Tuesday but began airing on local TV network affiliates in Massachusetts' 5th district on Wednesday.
