College Basketball Coach's Amazing Surprise for Hardworking Player Results in Tears (the Happy Kind)

"He comes every day...He's our best perimeter defender. The guy through 12 practices who's done the best job of doing what he's supposed to do every day is James."

James Montgomery is a senior at Northwestern University. He spent two seasons as a walk-on guard for the Wildcats basketball team, tallying a total of 124 minutes on the hardwood.

But head coach Chris Collins has taken notice of Montgomery's efforts. "He comes every day," Collins says during a team meeting. "He has as much energy as anybody on the team. He's always talking. He's our best perimeter defender. The guy through 12 practices who's done the best job of doing what he's supposed to do every day is James."

With that, Collins makes an incredible announcement that no one in the room will soon forget.
