Mark Levin Reveals Why He Wants the GOP to 'Boycott the State of the Union

"Boycott the State of the Union speech. Stand shoulder to shoulder, give the American people a choice between liberty and tyranny."

Conservative radio host Mark Levin on Thursday implored the GOP to "boycott" President Barack Obama's upcoming State of the Union speech because his administration has refused to abide by the U.S. Constitution.

"Since these men and women will not use the U.S. Constitution to defend this nation, since they will not use the Constitution to confront a lawless president," Levin began, "Worse yet, since they're funding his activities with these omnibus bills filled with all kinds of crap -- what the Republicans should do is boycott the State of the Union … so half of the House floor, because that's where they meet, is empty."

Instead, Levin argued, Republicans should get together and "present their own case" and "explain in an articulate and concise way what the state of the union is and how this president threatens the republic."

The radio host said the GOP needs to "do something bold" to get the attention of the American people. The media, he said, would "attack" the effort, but would not be able to ignore it.

"It would be historic, it would be profound that finally the opposition party demonstrates that it opposes, not just the Democrat Party, but the destruction of this republic by this president," he added.

"We are not talking about civil disobedience here, we're not talking about doing anything lawless. Boycott the State of the Union speech. Stand shoulder to shoulder, give the American people a choice between liberty and tyranny."
