Shark Tank' Star's Response to News That 85 Richest People Have Same Wealth as Half the World Will Drive the Left Insane

During his CBC show on Monday, "Shark Tank" star and mega-wealthy investor Kevin O'Leary responded to a report that the 85 richest people in the world currently have as much wealth as the bottom half of the world's population, calling it "fantastic news."

"This is a great thing because it inspires everybody, gets them motivation to look up to the one percent and say, 'I want to become one of those people, I’m going to fight hard to get up to the top.' This is fantastic news and of course I applaud it. What can be wrong with this?" he said of the new report.

His co-host, Amanda Lang, refuted O'Leary's point.

"Really? So somebody living on a dollar a day in Africa is getting up in the morning and saying, ‘I’m going to be Bill Gates?'" she shot back.

"That's the motivation everybody needs," O'Leary responded. "I'm not against charity. Don't tell me that you want to redistribute wealth again, that's never going to happen."
