Caught on Video: Attempt at World-Record Jump With Mini Cooper Ends in Crash

A French rally driver and daredevil attempted a world-record jump Tuesday with a miniature car, but the stunt ended in a spectacular crash that was caught on video from several angles.

Thankfully, Guerlain Chicherit was not seriously injured when he crashed the Mini Countryman after attempting to jump several hundred feet from one ramp to another, but he did suffer minor injuries that kept him in the hospital overnight for observation.

The unsuccessful world-record attempt was performed in Tignes, France, but roughly a month earlier, Chicherit did earn a different stand-out record: he launched his specially built Mini into the first-ever unassisted 360-backflip. Here are two different angles of that amazing feat:
