The Israel Defense Forces have for years warned about Palestinian terrorist groups launching rockets under the cover of residential areas, thus placing Palestinian civilians in direct danger in addition to the Israelis they are targeting.
New video posted by the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a militant group associated with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party, took that warning to a new level, showing the moment a militant engineered a bread cart to fire a rocket.
The video uploaded to YouTube by the Brigades showed a man wearing civilian clothes removing cardboard from the type of mobile cart seen frequently in Arab markets in Gaza, the West Bank and east Jerusalem used by outdoor vendors selling sesame coated bagels, hot corn on the cob and freshly squeezed fruit juices.
The man then moves out of the frame after which two rockets are seen launched from the cart balanced on wheels. The rockets fly dangerously close to a house situated next to the launching site.
TheBlaze is unable to independently authenticate the video, which appeared to include extensive editing to obscure the location of the launch.
Israeli officials have repeatedly decried Hamas for using Palestinian civilians as “human shields.” Just last week, the Hamas Interior Ministry ordered Palestinians to stay in their homes even if they are warned by the IDF to vacate before their neighborhood is bombed.
