Man Recounts Killing His Daughter, Grandchildren in Chilling, Newly Released 911 Audio: 'Every One of Them Is Dead

The Florida man who shot and killed his daughter and grandchildren recounted the horrific murders to a 911 operator, new emergency audio released Tuesday reveals.

"Yes, ma'am, I just shot my daughter and all my grandkids," Don Spirit said in the 911 call. "And when you get here, I'm going to shoot myself."

"Everyone one of them is dead," the man added, identifying himself in the call and providing his address to the operator.

The dispatcher continued asking questions, attempting to keep Spirit on the phone until authorities arrived on the scene.

“I don’t want to hear it, ma’am,” Spirit told her. “Just bring the motherf**kers out here."

When officers showed up, Spirit took his own life, authorities said. The ages of the deceased children range from three-months-old to 10-years-old.

Spirit had previously served time in prison after a hunting accident where he shot his 8-year-old son.

Gilchrist County Sheriff Robert Schultz said the small town will come together and work through the tragic events as one.

“We’re all family here,” he said. “There are certain things in life that you can explain, there are certain things you can’t. This is not one that I can explain.”

“If I didn’t have a doubt about anything else is that this community will come together and we will continue to be a family — we will work through this,” he added.
