Beck Highlights American 'Depravity' With Humorous Special: 'This Dog Is About to Eat That Man

“You promised me a human being would get eaten by a snake! You lied to me, Discovery Channel!”

Glenn Beck mocked the Discovery Channel's "Eaten Alive" special on Monday with a humorous special of his own.

"This dog is about to eat that man," Beck said dramatically, pointing to his German shepherd and his radio co-host Pat Gray, who was dressed in a yellow suit and sitting in a pool of dog food.

"With everything that's going on in the world right now, seeing a dude swallowed up by a snake is super critical information," Beck began with a laugh. "But, look, here's the thing: I'm a realist. If that's what it takes to get ratings and take this network over the top, we have to keep up with the Joneses."

"Now, is it bad for the person? Yes. Is it bad for the animal? Absolutely," Beck continued. "Does it break pretty much every moral code in existence? Of course it does. But will people watch it in America? Yes. So that's what makes it OK."

Beck joked that there is a proverb that says: "If ratings it getteth, than okay-eth it is."

"I think we're perfectly fine as a society. I mean, who's asking what's wrong with us? Not me," Beck said sarcastically. "Here's the craziest thing about this: People were upset about 'Eaten Alive.' But not because it was insane, tasteless, a completely worthless piece of programming. No, no. People were upset because the guy in the snake suit didn't actually get eaten."

Beck said that when Americans find themselves saying, "You promised me a human being would get eaten by a snake! You lied to me, Discovery Channel!" It should be "a little bit of a red flag that maybe we're on the depravity road and we've lost our way."

"If we are gullible enough as a people to think that someone would really be eaten by a snake on TV, then we probably deserve to be destroyed," Beck added. "I'm just saying. Reality television usually isn't the one that delivers on their over-hyped promises."
