Menendez: 'I am Not Going Anywhere

"I have always conducted myself appropriately and in accordance with the law."

A defiant Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) stood firm Friday evening, insisting he is innocent of any wrongdoing as he faces possible federal corruption charges over allegations of accepting inappropriate gifts.

"Let me be clear," Menendez said, reading prepared remarks to reporters, "I have always conducted myself appropriately and in accordance with the law."

"I am not going anywhere," he added.

Earlier Friday, CNN reported that the Justice Department will soon bring criminal charges against Menendez for accepting gifts from a Florida businessman and then using his power as a U.S. senator to help that man out.
