Following the Cleveland Cavaliers heartbreaking loss to the Chicago Bulls in game three of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals on Friday, an ESPN reporter asked LeBron James if his teammate, point guard Kyrie Irving, deserved some blame for failing to record an assist.
What made the question so awkward was the fact that Irving was sitting right next to James at the time. All Irving could do is literally shake his head at the reporter’s question during the post-game press conference.
“Don’t none of us get a pass tonight,” James replied. “It’s not just Kyrie. Kyrie could have had 40 assists, but if [Derrick Rose] still makes that shot, we still lose. … We have to be better.”
