Second Arrest Made in Savage Beating of Man Near Baltimore; Stomach-Turning Video and Images Emerge

Unthinkable violence.

Police in Baltimore County recently made a second arrest in the savagely violent beating of a 61-year-old man, who is still recovering from the brutal injuries he sustained at the hands of a group of roughly 50 teenagers.

So far, 17-year-old Antoine Lawson has been charged with attempted murder and a 15-year-old faces an assault charge in the beating, according to police. More arrests are expected to be made.

Richard Fletcher, 61, is finally out of the hospital after suffering “broken eye sockets, a broken nose, broken ribs and a brain bleed,” CBS Baltimore reported. Here's what he looked like before and after the beating:

Fletcher was reportedly surrounded and attacked by dozens of teens after he tried to get two girls to stop fighting on top of his vehicle. Cpl. John Wachter, of the Baltimore County Police Department, said he wasn’t trying to get involved in their disagreement, he just wanted them to get away from his car.

Stomach-turning cellphone video has since emerged showing the teens beating and kicking Fletcher until he seems to be unconscious on the ground. WJZ-TV later aired the disturbing video (Warning: Strong violence)

The neighborhood now fears for their own safety and would like to see police make more arrests in connection to the attack.

Meanwhile, more than $37,000 has been raised on a GoFunMe page to help Fletcher pay his medical bills. The fundraising page claims his medical bills will likely end up costing between $200,000 and $400,000.

Fletcher will reportedly still require several more surgeries and still has a "long road to recovery" ahead of him.
