Two Israelis Killed After Palestinian Attacker Opens Fire in West Bank

JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military says two Israelis were killed after a Palestinian attacker opened fire on their car in the West Bank.

The military says forces are searching the area for the suspect.

Israeli Channel 10 TV news reported that the fire came from a passing car. The channel reported four children also in the car were lightly wounded in Thursday's attack.

Tensions have flared in recent weeks surrounding a Jerusalem holy site revered by both Muslims and Jews. Israeli police and Palestinian protesters have clashed at the holy site, known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary. An Israeli was killed last month when Palestinian protesters pelted his car with rocks.
