See Answer Blue Lives Matter Activist Gives When Asked Why He Thought Al Sharpton Agreed to Speak at Slain NYPD Officer's Funeral
October 27, 2015
A Blue Lives Matter activist said Tuesday that he believes Al Sharpton agreed to give the eulogy at the funeral of a slain NYPD officer because he knew it would receive media attention.
Sharpton had previously been slated to speak at the funeral, but announced earlier that he would no longer do so after many voiced objections. The civil rights leader said he had been invited by officer Randolph Holder's father.
"Why do you think he's coming?" Josiah Ryan, a reporter for TheBlaze, asked activist Calvin Hunt outside a viewing for the slain cop.
"Because there's a camera there," Hunt bluntly replied.
"This man has always been against the police. Never had nothing nice to say about the police," he added, contending his appearance would have been a "slap in the face" to the NYPD.
