U.S. Marine's Comeback to Donald Trump Over Muslim-Tracking Database Remarks Goes Viral in a Hurry
November 20, 2015
A U.S. Marine, who happens to be Muslim, responded to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s comments about a Muslim-tracking database in the U.S. with a tweet and a photo.
The message reads: “Hey @realDonaldTrump, I'm an American Muslim and I already carry a special ID badge. Where's yours?”

Within 24 hours, the comeback had gone viral and was being covered by national news outlets. By Friday afternoon, the tweet had been retweeted 12,000 times and "favorited" over 15,000 times.
Trump said on Friday that he was only answering a question from a reporter who brought up the idea of a tracking database for Muslims.
"I didn't suggest a database-a reporter did. We must defeat Islamic terrorism & have surveillance, including a watch list, to protect America," he wrote on Twitter.
