"Tried calling and texting and still haven’t gotten a reply."

A Snapchat video purportedly taken during the shooting at a popular gay Orlando nightclub gave a brief glimpse into the harrowing scene that unfolded early Sunday morning.

Amanda Alvear, 25, posted the video to Snapchat as gunshots rang out at Pulse, the Mirror reported. Alvear was among the 49 killed by 29-year-old Omar Mateen who went on a shooting rampage at the club.

The video appears to briefly show Alvear who says something about a “shooting” as what sounds like gunshots are heard in the background.

The video was also posted to Facebook by someone who identified himself as Alvear’s friend.

“Found out thru snapchat my friend Amanda Alvear was there at Pulse last night. Tried calling and texting and still haven’t gotten a reply,” the Facebook user who goes by the name “Stichs Nbc” on the social media site wrote.

Amanda's brother, Brian Alvear, also shared the Snapchat video on Facebook and said the she did answer one phone call after the shooting began. Alvear's best friend, Mercedes Flores, 26, was also among those killed Sunday.

The Ledger reported that Alvear was a nursing student at the University of South Florida.

Mateen’s attack was the worst mass killing in U.S. history. He was purportedly “on the radar” of federal authorities. He reportedly called 911 during his rampage and pledged his allegiance to the Islamic State.
