Charles Barkley rips San Francisco's 'homeless crooks' during NBA All-Star Game. Woke co-hosts push back — but viewers agree.

Outspoken NBA legend Charles Barkley called out San Francisco's "homeless crooks" during a live broadcast of the league's All-Star Game over the weekend — and as you might expect, his woke co-hosts pushed back with a vengeance.

What are the details?

Barkley directed a question to fellow Hall of Famer Reggie Miller: "If you had a chance of being cold or being around a bunch of homeless crooks in San Francisco ..."

With that, Barkley's fellow hosts jumped on his words so quickly with howls of disapproval that it didn't appear Barkley could even finish his question.

"That's crazy!" Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green hollered at Barkley. Reporter Taylor Rooks cried out "no!" and then shot back with a "we love San Francisco!" declaration.

But Barkley was unmoved: "No, we don't!"

"Yes, we do!" Green — whose team plays in San Francisco — replied.

“You can’t even walk around down there!” Barkley argued back.

“Yes, you can walk around!” Green insisted.

“Yeah, with a bulletproof vest and security!” Barkley declared.

The writer of a USA Today story on Barkley's "unnecessary and classless jab at San Francisco" took the NBA legend to task for his "rude and thoughtless remarks."

But it seems observers by and large are backing Barkley and affirming his words — most notably Elon Musk, who posted, "He’s not wrong."

Here are other similar reactions:

Oh, there's more where that came from:

  • "He’s absolutely correct," another commenter said.
  • "Chuck spitting facts," another user noted. "West coast elitism on display and Chuck not having [it]."
  • "I’ve lived in SF… Chuck isn’t wrong," another commenter stated.
  • "Chuck is right," another user declared.

Anything else?

Indeed, San Francisco has seen an increase in crime for a number of years — and it just seems to get more and more brazen.

Even the city's far-left Mayor London Breed — who jumped on the "defund the police" bandwagon in 2020 after the death of George Floyd — made headlines for a speech a year later in which she called out "bulls**t" crime "that has destroyed our city."
