Ex-porn star has spent years ministering to others in the adult film industry, now she's going to lead XXXChurch

'Beautiful miracle'

XXXChurch, a Christian ministry devoted to helping reach adult film stars and others in the pornography industry, has announced the retirement of its founder, Craig Gross. But it's the announcement of the organization's new leadership that is gaining headlines, as XXXChurch will now be run by husband and wife duo Rich and Brittni De La Mora.

Brittni, whose maiden name is Ruiz, was once a well-known pornography star who found Jesus a few years back, left the industry and transformed her life.

The former adult film star has described her journey in detail of going from "a porn star to purity," inspiring people to embrace Christ and change their lives.

After De La Mora's conversion, she met and married Rich — who is a pastor — and the two now regularly speak out about her former occupation and their marriage. Considering the remarkable change and the journey that followed, Brittni De La Mora's powerful story has understandably captivated people across America — and the world.

Gross announced his departure in a July 12 blog post, explaining that he would be leaving XXXChurch after 17 years at the helm. He and XXXChurch have been on the front lines to help people inside the adult film industry as well as people outside who struggle with porn addiction.

"Through prayer earlier this year, I heard the Lord say, 'Give XXXchurch to Brittni and Rich De La Mora to lead,'" Gross wrote in his announcement. "Brittni is a former porn star we met while she was still in the industry, and we fostered a relationship with her as she began hers with Christ. What God has done in her life in the last seven years is nothing short of a beautiful miracle."

De La Mora also released a statement on her Facebook page reacting to her and her husband's newfound leadership role in XXXChurch.

"This IS CRAZY! When I was in the adult film industry XXXChurch used to tell me that Jesus loves me," she wrote. "They gave me a Bible and all kinds of sweet gifts. When I left the adult industry 7 years ago XXXchurch was there for me during my transition."

The post went on to express gratitude for the XXXChurch ministry, with De La Mora noting that Gross has "blessed" her life. She expressed profound gratitude for his decision to turn the organization over to her and her husband.

"We are so honored and so grateful that you two have entrusted us with much of your life's work," she said. "Thank you for passing the torch."
