Mark Hamill villainizes parents who want to adopt children, then pro-life Americans obliterate 'Star Wars' actor's flawed reasoning

In past abortion arguments, liberals would claim that conservatives could not weigh in on the Roe v. Wade discussion because they were allegedly not willing to adopt unwanted children. However, there are 36 couples – many of which are infertile – waiting for every baby that is placed for adoption, according to Business Library. Now, leftists – including actor Mark Hamill – have a new strategy of openly villainizing anyone who has the compassion to adopt a child.

Hamill – a known leftist actor who regularly spouts Democratic talking points – attempted to make a joke about desperate parents wanting to adopt children.

Hamill denigrated parents who want to adopt children by posting an image of comic book villains Joker and Harley Quinn. Hamill captioned the image with the words: "We will adopt your baby."

Ironically, the Joker and Harley Quinn were able to have a baby in the D.C. Universe. Despite being supervillains, they didn't abort the child, and Quinn gave birth to Lucy Quinzel.

Numerous pro-life Americans pointed out two fatal flaws in the reasoning of the "Star Wars" actor.

Several pro-life Americans noted that Luke Skywalker – the sci-fi character Hamill is best known for – was indeed adopted.

Skywalker was adopted by Tatooine moisture farmer Owen Lars – the stepbrother of Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker, who later became Darth Vader. Also, Skywalker's sister Leia Organa was adopted by the House of Organa on the Alderaan planet, according to Wookiepedia.

The Libertarian Party Mises Caucus shared a screenshot from "Star Wars" showing the adoptive parents.

School safety advocate J.T. Lewis: "Luke Skywalker and his sister were adopted. For the sake of the galaxy, thank goodness Padmé was pro-life!"

Gregg Kite: "The sudden shift toward hatred of adoptive families is the first thing that has legitimately astounded me from the left in ages. I used to think nothing surprised me anymore. I'm starting to worry we've only scratched the surface of the depravity we're going to see around this."

Attorney Casey Mattox: "I think twitter ruins some people."

Other pro-life Twitter reactions made references to a 2016 report that the "Star Wars" actor allegedly tried to force an abortion on his son's ex-girlfriend – a purported former porn actress.

Maegan Chen told the New York Post, "Mark Hamill told me that I shouldn’t bring a child into the world that nobody wants."

The voice actor also allegedly told Chen that his then-37-year-old son was "not ready to be a father."

"Nobody ever asked me what I wanted," Chen told the outlet. “I felt really pressured from them to get rid of the baby."

But it wasn't only Hamill who attacked parents who want to adopt children.

Matt Oswalt – who is best known for riding the coattails of his progressive comedian brother Patton Oswalt – also assailed parents who want to adopt unwanted children by equating them to horror movie degenerates.

"Late Night With Seth Meyers" writer Karen Chee made the exact same joke two days later, "The 'we will adopt your baby' couples all look like they’re auditioning to be the white people in a Jordan Peele movie."

Dennis Detwiller, a video game designer for Hothead Games, lashed out, "That f***ing annoying couple with the 'WE WILL ADOPT YOUR BABY' sign, when confronted, confessed that it’s very expensive to adopt a baby and they couldn’t afford it. Seriously. You can’t make this shit up. Dear conservative idiots. Shut up. Sit down. The adults are talking."

1970s actress Lynda Carter said, "The 'We will adopt your baby!' signs are so nonchalant...As if it is nothing to just hand someone your baby. As if there is no possibility of trauma or heartbreak there for birth mother and child."

Former BuzzFeed writer Kristin Chirico added, "'We will adopt your baby' b***h we all know this is a poorly disguised attempt to make more evangelicals/Catholics, you aren't f***ing sneaky. Stop acting like treating people like livestock is you doing them a favor. Gross."

According to the World Health Organization (WHO): "Available data suggests that between 48 million couples and 186 million individuals have infertility globally."

There are reportedly 2 million couples ready to adopt in the United States.
