One-handed Tennessee singer/songwriter records inspiring Christmas song with his 5-year-old son

Tennessee resident Tony Memmel was born with only hand, but that has never stopped him from fulfilling his dream of being a guitar-playing singer/songwriter. Instead, Memmel fashioned himself a cast made out of gorilla tape that allows him to "hold" a guitar pick without a hand, and went to work. According to his website, he has played professionally in 47 out of the 50 states and in over 25 countries, playing his songs and giving motivational speeches.

According to WTVF-TV, love for music runs in the Memmel family, as Memmel's five year old son Theo has been singing almost since he was born.

"Something we noticed in Theo when he was very young, before he could speak, he could sing," Tony told WTVF. "I think it lives in him. He's just taking off and running with it. Just to see him growing into this little boy who has a shared interest in something I love too, it's beyond words."

In a post on his website titled "As for Me and My House," (a clear reference to Joshua 24:15), Memmel described the joy of playing music with his son and hearing him exclaim: "Today, he wanted to sit with me at the piano, and while he was making a joyful noise, he looked up and shouted “HALLELUJAH!” The spirit is moving in this house, today. Come on!"

So when Memmel decided to record his new song, "Why I Believe in Santa Claus," he knew he wanted Theo to sing backup.

"I was like, 'Dude, would you sing with me on this song?'" to which Theo responded, "Can we do it kinda loud? Super loud?"

Judge for yourself how Tony and his son did.
