Rep. Lauren Boebert's 18-year-old son arrested in connection with alleged vehicle break-ins, identity theft

Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado recently admitted that the last year has been "pretty difficult" for her family, and their difficulties don't seem to have abated much at all in 2024. Now, Boebert's oldest son, 18-year-old Tyler Boebert, has been arrested and faces nearly two dozen charges.

Around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, police arrested Tyler in connection with "a recent string of vehicle trespass and property thefts in Rifle," Colorado, where Rep. Boebert and her children live. He was booked into Garfield County Jail on 22 charges: four felony counts each of criminal possession of a financial device and criminal possession of identification documents, one felony count of conspiracy to commit, three misdemeanor counts of first-degree criminal trespass auto with intent to commit a crime, four misdemeanor counts of ID theft, three misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and three petty offense counts of theft of less than $300.

Young Boebert is still in custody, and the investigation into his alleged offenses remains "ongoing," Rifle Police said. The Daily Mail reached out to Lauren Boebert for comment on her son's arrest.

This is not Tyler's only interaction with law enforcement this year. Last month, he called the cops after his father, Jayson Boebert, Rep. Boebert's ex-husband, allegedly stuck his thumb inside the young man's mouth with such force that Tyler feared he might lose a tooth. Jayson was later charged with harassment, prohibited use of a weapon, and third-degree assault.

Jayson Boebert was also arrested and charged after a heated argument with Lauren Boebert at a restaurant a few days before the alleged altercation with his son. In connection with the dust-up with Lauren, Jayson was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, prohibited use of weapons, obstructing a peace officer, harassment, disorderly conduct, and third-degree trespassing.

These charges and other accusations allowed Lauren Boebert, 37, to secure a temporary restraining order against her ex, preventing him from coming within 100 yards of her or the three minor children they share. The restraining order does not include Tyler since he is an adult.

In court documents, Lauren claimed that Jayson had "made multiple suicidal threats and threats to harm [her] over the past 14 months." Jayson has stated that he would "never harm" his ex-wife. "I just want to move on and be in peace," he told the AP.
