Gordon Chang: The China trade war has already begun

Gordon Chang, author of "The Coming Collapse of China," joins The Buck Sexton Show to explore the foreign trade levers the Trump administration might pull, as well as the potential impact of these policy changes on our relationship with China. In the process, he contradicts the popular narrative that Trump might kick off a trade war with China.

"Trump cannot start a trade war with China," Gordon argues. "Because we're already in one, and only one side is waging it and that's the Chinese. The United States, at some point,  is going to have to retaliate for essentially predatory trade practices which over the last two or three years have gotten worse as China's tried to close up its markets. So the U.S. is going to have to do something."

The Buck Sexton Show airs weekdays 12–3pm ET on TheBlaze Radio Network.
