London police and citizens fought terrorists with whatever they had

Mike Opelka welcomed Fox News Radio's Simon Owen to “Pure Opelka” today to discuss the wave of terror attacks in London over the past weekend.  Seven were killed, and 48 are reported injured at this time.

Terrorists with large knives began walking “quite calmly” among patrons of the bars, pubs and restaurants on the south side of the river Thames.  Twenty-one people were critically injured in that attack alone; another attack was carried out on the bridge via van.

The perpetrators were all shot dead by the police within eight minutes from the time they began. The names of the perpetrators were not released for nearly 48 hours, which Owen said has sadly spawned conspiracy theories.

The real purpose was to give police a head start to track down suspected accomplices, which is why his news outlet did not broadcast any names they discovered at police request. If they had done so too early in the investigation, “All their associates could [have] hit the ground and disappear,” he explained.

A tremendous amount of bravery was displayed by police and civilians alike. Owen reported that one officer was seriously injured after attacking a suspect with his bare hands. A baker heard a commotion outside his shop and struck another over the head with a crate, then gave 20 people outside shelter.

“This will not change our way of life,” he asserted.
