Fox News host Shepard Smith corrects guest to promote Iran deal propaganda
May 10, 2018
In a segment this week, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith appeared to be critical of President Donald Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iran nuclear deal, saying he was “violating” the deal rather than what he was actually doing – changing the law.
“You can’t really get out of the Iran deal, though,” Smith corrected Fox News contributor Gordon Chang's phrasing for the story. “There’s no provision from that. You can make a decision to now violate the terms of the deal that you were a party to, but ‘pulling out’ is a bit of a misnomer.”
On today’s show, Doc called out Smith for his anti-Trump bias and for clearly using the word “violate” to confuse people into thinking the president did something wrong by pulling out of the deal.
