Shellie Zimmerman, wife of George Zimmerman, was arrested and charged with one count of perjury Tuesday after being accused of lying to a judge about their finances.
Assistant state attorney John Guy charged Shellie Zimmerman, 25, with knowingly making false statements during her husband's April bond hearing, the Associated Press reported. George Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
Seminole County Sheriff's deputies arrested Shellie Zimmerman "at the location she was residing in Seminole County" around 3:30 p.m., a sheriff's statement said, according to the Orlando Sentinel. Her bond was set at $1,000, and she was "in the process of posting bond," late Tuesday afternoon.
George Zimmerman was ordered back to jail earlier this month after a judge revoked his $150,000 bail, saying Zimmerman and his wife had misrepresented their finances so he could receive a lower bond.
