U.S. Army Sgt. Dale Dick shocked his family by showing up at a Chicago Blackhawks game last weekend after returning from a 9-month deployment in Afghanistan. The entire heart-melting scene was captured on video.
Dick, flowers in hand, hugged his wife and two children tightly as the secret plot played out perfectly.
The father also held his newborn son for the very first time.
Dick said he is "forever grateful" to the Chicago Blackhawks for helping him coordinate the surprise.
