Chainsaw-Wielding, Flowerpot-Wearing Teen Terrorizes Shop (What More Do You Need in a Headline?)

Down under.

An allegedly inebriated 19-year-old was arrested earlier this week in Ipswich, Australia, after he decided to don a flowerpot on his head and rampage through a gas station with a chainsaw.

Law enforcement officials arrested Steven Frank Steele on Monday for the attempted armed robbery of a 7-Eleven gas station in Flinders View.

Police said Steele entered the store at around 4:00 a.m. with a running chainsaw and demanded cash from two terrified station attendants.

The attendants refused and fled to a back room.

The reportedly drunk teen then exposed “his buttocks to the store attendants,” according to the The Queensland Times, and stole a bottle of soda before storming away.

On his way out, he damaged display shelves, a window and a car in the parking lot with the chainsaw.

It wasn’t long before the police located both Steele and the chainsaw, which he had ditched in a nearby bush.

Steele was then charged with “one count each of armed robbery, going armed so as to cause fear, public nuisance and unlawful possession of suspected stolen property,” the Times reported.

The teen appeared in court soon after the incident took place, but no application was made for his bail. He will remain in custody until he appears again in court on March 3.
