Pennsylvania College Confirms Student Has Tested Positive for Zika Virus
February 10, 2016
"... there is no additional health risk to anyone on campus."
Lehigh University confirmed that one of its students has tested positive for the Zika virus, WPVI-TV reported.
The Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, school — which sits just over an hour north of Philadelphia — indicated the student traveled abroad during the winter break, WPVI added.
"The Lehigh University Health and Wellness Center has been in direct contact with state health officials, who indicate that there is no additional health risk to anyone on campus," according to a statement on the school's website, the station said.
On Tuesday state health officials said two Pennsylvania residents were diagnosed with the virus, but WPVI reported it isn't known if the Lehigh University student is one of those individuals.
The university also posted the news on its Facebook page.
