Breitbart Spokesman Quits As Video Emerges Appearing to Show Trump Manager Grabbing Reporter

"It is wrong, disgusting and indicative of an ugliness that is contaminating the public and political discourse in our country."

The spokesman for Breitbart resigned Friday afternoon as video emerged appearing to show Donald Trump's campaign manager grabbing reporter Michelle Fields at a Tuesday press conference, a charge the Republican front-runner and his manager flatly denied.

Kurt Bardella said in a statement that he chose to resign as spokesman for Breitbart because he could no longer "give 100%" to the people he represented.

"My own personal observation is that there is a cycle of behavior that is escalating and it's happening exclusively at Donald Trump events," he said. "It is wrong, disgusting and indicative of an ugliness that is contaminating the public and political discourse in our country."

"Life is too short to invest your time in things you don't believe and aren't passionate about," he added. "That is why I made the decision to resign from representing Breitbart."

When asked who would represent Breitbart moving forward, Bardella told TheBlaze: "Beats me."

The resignation came as video emerged appearing to show Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbing Fields' arm as she attempted to ask the billionaire a question following a news conference.

Lewandowski had adamantly denied the charge and on early Friday morning called Fields "delusional" in a tweet.

Trump, for his part, said that he thought Fields "made the story up" and advised one reporter to look into her past. "Check her out, just check her out," he said.

Fields filed a police report alleging "simple battery" was committed by Lewandowski.

A representative for the Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheBlaze.
