Rosie O'Donnell wants women to leave the Democratic Party if the party does this

Rosie O'Donnell took to her Twitter account in disgust after a Democrat official said that being pro-abortion was not going to be a litmus test for Democrats. She said women have to take drastic measures to defend their right to abortion if the Democrats take that policy up.

"WOMEN SHOULD FORM OUR OWN PARTY IF DEMS DO THIS," she tweeted in all-caps, which many take to signify emphatic yelling on social media.

The "this" she referred to was another tweet that read, "Throwing women, women's healthcare & reproductive choices under the bus seems quite easy for Dem leadership, no?" and linked to an article quoting Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) on abortion rights.

Luján, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee chairman, told the Hill that abortion was not going to be a litmus test for the Democratic Party, and if they had a sufficiently progressive candidate in other areas, they would support them despite opposition to abortion.

"There is not a litmus test for Democratic candidates,” Luján said. “As we look at candidates across the country, you need to make sure you have candidates that fit the district, that can win in these districts across America.”

Luján suggested that the Democrats needed a broader coalition in order to win back enough seats in the House to take it over from the Republicans.

“To pick up 24 [seats] and get to 218, that is the job. We’ll need a broad coalition to get that done,” he said. “We are going to need all of that, we have to be a big family in order to win the House back.”

O'Donnell has been an outspoken critic against the president, especially from her Twitter social media account. In June, she indicated that she donated to help Reality Winner, the anti-Trump NSA contractor who was arrested for leaking secret documents to the media.

The actress also famously entered into a personal feud with Trump long before he became a presidential candidate.
