Accused child rapist pulled over for DUI with 6 kids in car, including 12-year-old he allegedly raped

An alleged child rapist was accused of driving while intoxicated and was caught with six children in his vehicle at the time, one of whom he was later accused of raping.

A 42-year-old man named Jeremy Guthrie was stopped by New Mexico state police in unearthed bodycam footage from July 2022, according to the Daily Mail.

Police pulled the man over after he was seen on video swerving between lanes on the interstate in Albuquerque. The arresting officer said he could smell alcohol on the man's breath every time he breathed or spoke.

While the suspect searched for his documents, the officer pointed out Guthrie's wallet was between his legs, after which he explained his confusion was because he was "nervous."

The officer noted that Guthrie was with six children and asked, "Who are these kids to you?"

"This is my friend," Guthrie said about a young girl in the passenger seat, who he claimed was 18.

"That girl is not 18, trust me, she don't look 18," the officer said before ordering the man out of the vehicle. As he came out, the officer then noticed Guthrie's pants zipper was undone, which Guthrie explained was because he had recently urinated.

The suspect was then arrested for DUI before the officers had the children call their parents to be picked up.

Afterward, Guthrie was charged with allegedly raping at least one of the young girls who was in his vehicle. KRQE reported that a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped and impregnated by the man when she was 12 and had a miscarriage. However, the Daily Mail claimed that Guthrie was charged with allegedly raping the girl as well as her twin sister for more than a year.

The New York Post added that he allegedly sent the second twin lewd texts, was suspected of raping her as well, and talked about how much he loved the sisters.

“It makes me sick. I’m livid to what he did to my granddaughters. And he’s just a very, very sick person,” said the grandmother of the twins.

Guthrie was also accused of texting one of the girls while he was in jail, with text messages obtained by the Daily Mail purporting to show him asking for money.

"Can you send me some bread for food?" one of the alleged texts said. Another text message read that Guthrie was allegedly texting using a prison guard's phone.

“He’s in jail, how the heck is all this happening when he’s in jail? That’s crazy,” the grandmother added.

Guthrie remains in custody at Albuquerque’s Metropolitan Detention Center, according to records seen by the New York Post.
