Actor and musician Jamie Foxx, who turned 55 years old in December, recently experienced some sort of health issue, according to a statement that his daughter Corinnne posted on social media.

While the statement did not disclose any specifics, it did say that the celebrity was recovering.

"From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, The Foxx Family" the statement read.

Corinne Fox, who is one of Jamie Foxx's daughters, posted the statement on Wednesday.

Over on Jamie Foxx's Instagram page, people left comments offering their well-wishes and noting that they were praying for the celebrity.

CNN reported that a source said the man had been hospitalized in the state of Georgia.
