DOJ will investigate FBI and Justice Department actions leading up to election

Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz announced that he will now investigate both the FBI and his own department and their handling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server. The inquiry reportedly will focus on whether "policies or procedures were not followed" when Comey decided to speak about the then-ongoing investigation during his July 5th press conference. The investigation will also examine the letters Comey sent to Congress days before the election and whether they exerted an undue influence on the election's outcome.
