‘Offensive’ but ‘honest’? Shania Twain forced to apologize for comments on Trump

In a long interview that was published over the weekend, country superstar Shania Twain made a simple comment that got her in big trouble.

“I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest,” Twain said of President Donald Trump.

After being hit by a backlash, the “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” singer apologized Sunday night, saying she was “passionately against discrimination” and doesn’t “hold any common moral values” with Trump. One of the big problems with this ridiculous story? Twain is Canadian, so there’s no danger of her voting for the president.

Doc and Kris talked about the latest politically correct backlash on today’s show. Get the full story with our explainer here.
