After last night's GOP debate, per usual, the candidates shook hands as they cleared the stage. But one handshake in particular between Rick Santorum and Ron Paul could be classified as assault. Or a misdemeanor, at least.
Watch as Paul extends his arm halfway, palm out. Santorum seizes it in a "put 'er there, partner!" kind of way then aggressively pumps in and out, making it look like a yanky dance:
The name of this handshake is "the socket wrench":
This handshake is very much the same as the water pump; however, the pumps are in and out as opposed to up and down. Most often the socket wrench handshake is achieved when the shaker pulls the shake into their territory then commences to push them backward. This move is performed by power players in an attempt to get the shake off balance and in the shakers zone. You could get injured in this form of handshake.
This is actually worse than the awkward handshake between Mitt Romney and Donald Trump.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul's shoulder socket.
