As Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi prepares to face what is being billed as “massive” protests opposing his rule this Sunday, video has emerged of another demonstration in which mostly women blasted Morsi and the U.S., calling him a “dog,” his colleagues “sons of bit**es” and telling “accursed America” to “keep your money.”
The Middle East Media and Research Institute (MEMRI) found the video of the anti-Morsi demonstration in Manufiyya in northern Egypt, which was posted online on Monday.
In the video, one sees a large group of predominantly women chanting slogans, clapping their hands and waving Egyptian flags. According to the transcript provided by MEMRI, they chant in open mic style with one demonstrator calling out the script and the crowd echoing [emphasis added]:
Demonstrator: Down with the regime of the dog!
Crowd: Down with the regime of the dog!
Demonstrator: Down with all those sons of bit**es!
Crowd: Down with all those sons of bit**es!
Threatening Morsi, they shout, “We are digging your grave in Manufiyya” and “Get out, you idiot…we don't want you!”
“You have made the people despise you,” the crowd chants in unison.
In their opinion, Morsi’s government is beholden to the United States. “They are the servants of the Americans,” the demonstrators shout. The crowd asserts that Egypt doesn’t need American aid. Last month, Secretary of State John Kerry sent Egypt $1.3 billion even though Egypt has not lived up to certain standards of democracy.
Here’s more of the transcript from MEMRI in which the crowd bashes America and threatens to conquer it:
Demonstrator: Down with all the collaborators and cowards.
Crowd: Down with all the collaborators and cowards.
Demonstrator: We don't want your aid, you accursed America...
Crowd: We don't want your aid, you accursed America...
Demonstrator: Oh America, keep your money...
Crowd: Oh America, keep your money...
Demonstrator: The Egyptian army will run you over tomorrow.
Crowd: The Egyptian army will run you over tomorrow.
The crowd says Morsi’s “deceitful government” “terrorized” his way to power and chants “Get out, you liar!” They preferred Mubarak over Morsi whom they call “a sucker” and one “stopped the supply of water and electricity.”
“They kicked out a pilot and brought in an ass,” the crowd says.
MEMRI posted a video earlier this month showing Morsi meeting with a group of politicians who thought they were speaking privately. In fact, their words were being broadcast live on Egyptian TV, in what became a classic hot mic moment. During the meeting in which they were discussing how to react to neighbor Ethiopia’s building a dam on the Nile River, one prominent politician referred to the U.S. as Egypt’s “enemy."
